2014 Cadillac ATS-V

  Review

Cadillac seems to be just about done filling in all of the blanks in their popular CTS model, so it was high time for them to provide some definitive details on their next project: the ATS. Prepared to slide in right below the CTS and all of its variants, the ATS should be debuting in sedan form in 2012. That’s all fine and dandy, but we are much more interested in the variant following that unveiling with the ATS-V in 2014.

First rumored in 2008, the ATS is ready to go and will be built on GM’s new Alpha platform with a rear wheel drive system. Its design will be inspired by Cadillac’s Art and Science design language which "incorporates sharp, sheer forms and crisp edges — a form vocabulary that expresses bold, high-technology design and invokes the technology used to design it."

The ATS-V was first thought to carry a 470 HP V8 engine as found in the CTS-V, but worried that the car would then take sales away from its bigger brother, Cadillac opted for a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 that will produce around 380 HP. The engine will be mated to a six speed manual or automatic transmission and the combination will get the ATS-V coupe to 60 mph in under five seconds with a top speed of above 170 mph. This engine choice fits in nicely with the ATS-V’s biggest rival, the BMW M3, but Cadillac may need to up the ante in terms of power for the competition to be a bit stiffer. The future M3 will produce around 450 HP and should get to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds, but top speed will be electronically limited to 155 mph.

The full line of ATS models should cover a sedan in 2012, the ATS-V and Coupe in 2014, and an ATS-V Convertible in 2015. Stay tuned for more details!

We all love the Cardillac ATS-V specially on its hot red body paint. For me, a V6 engine is quite enough for this kind of car, I mean this can ran good with that. Can’t wait for more details and news about it.

The car sure looks fabulous and striking in its complete red paint, but anyway I would agree that they should outweigh the performance of the CTS and using a V6 engine is like moving backward.

It looks very firm and elegant on its red paint. One good thing about Cadillac is that they are really advance on releasing their models to be able to get the attention of the buyers. I’d like to add up some suggestion about Cadillac that it is much better if they will used a newer engine than V6. Well, hope they’d agree.

The picture above is truly a teaser! Anyway, I would surely wait for an update news about this Cadillac ATS-V, and I am hoping that it is impressive as well as with their other vehicle.

Very firm and look elegant on black painted. This model unit definitely more advanced built on GM’s new Alpha platform, I even love the choice used for its tire the rear-wheel drive system. Totally, one of the corporate and high profile car.

Well, I think it would suit them well if they have a year apart in production schedules that way, they will be able to devote more time in developing the models that they would be releasing.

hmm. It seems that they don’t have any production for 2013.. And why does it need to be one year apart.. Well, I do hope that their future line up would spice up the competition between their greatest rival, the BMW.

I truly believe that they completely fill the missing piece of the CTS version and its a great thing to close down that one! For this new series, I think the beauty that we have seen is just the start for more high quality performing car.

Yeah, I have to admit that its has a clean design and it looks so sporty! And I bet the competition between the M3 and ATS-V is kind of interesting! I just hope that the convertible version would not affect the performance of this car.
