Callaway Cars is best known for tuning Chevrolet and other GM models, and pushing them to unworldly numbers, but its history goes beyond just GM models. It has also taken BMW , VW , Porsche , Audi Mercedes-Benz , Aston Martin and many other models under its tuning wing. To be perfectly honest, though, most tuning enthusiasts consider Callaway a Chevy tuner.
Well, with the 2014 Silverado bringing a new generation to the legendary line of pickup trucks, it was only a matter of time before Callaway laid its tuning hands upon the model. Callaway is currently piecing together its version of the Silverado and anticipates the 5.3-liter engine to exceed 450 horsepower and the range-topping 6.2-liter V-8 to crest the 540-horsepower mark. These increases amount to minimal gains of 95 horsepower in model’s with a 5.3-liter engine and an estimated 120 horsepower in the 6.2-liter engine.
The biggest addition to the 2014 Callaway Silverado is a supercharger, but the tune will also include some electrical updates and a computer remap. Buyers will also have several optional features available, including: wheels and tires, suspension updates, interior refinements, body modifications, Honker intake systems and DD exhaust systems.
In the released image, we can see that there aren’t many additions to the body thus far. All we can see are some "Callaway" badges and some shiny, new rims.
This makes the second 2014 GM model that Callaway is working on, as earlier this year we got a look at the 2014 Corvette Stingray Aerowagon Concept . Whether you think it is blasphemy or the baddest Corvette mod you’ve ever seen, we can all agree that it is a dramatic sight.
More details will follow, but it looks like even though Chevy likely won’t offer up a competitor for the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor or the 2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor models, at least Callaway will offer up a version that provides some competition.
Update 8/14/2013: Callaway has successfully installed its supercharger setup on the 5.3-liter Eco-Tec engine. There were some electrical issues that the tuner had to overcome, but after a few drive cycles it was working just fine. Callaway will release the final horsepower and torque specs soon. Callaway did announce that its tuning kit for the Silverado will start at $17,395.

The 2014 Silverado received a full overhaul, giving it a dramatic presence and a more muscular look. Though this is a full overhaul, the redesign is more of a evolution of last generation, but it is enough to satisfy pickup buyers. Also added in for 2014 is an aluminum hood and more prominent wheel flares.
Under the hood is where most of the modifications took place, as Chevrolet scrapped every engine that was in the 2013 model year and installed new EcoTec3 engines, including: a 4.3-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower; a 5.3-liter V-8 with 355 horsepower; and a 6.2-liter V-8 with an estimated 420 horsepower.
Prices start at $24,585 for the regular cab, $28,610 for the double cab and $32,710 for the crew cab.

2014 CALLAWAY SILVERADO AND SIERRA DEVELOPMENT - IN PROCESS
OLD LYME, CONNECTICUT (July 02, 2013)–
Callaway engineers are hard at work developing the company’s latest Supercharged versions of 2014 GM SportTrucks, after receiving their first 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks this past week.
2014 Silverado and Sierra product development, testing and validation will be conducted over the next few months. Supercharged 5.3L and 6.2L models are projected to be available later this year, in every GM-built cab and bed combination. Expect premium performance, quality and value consistent with other Callaway car and truck packages.
Through the application of Callaway’s proven supercharging techniques, Callaway expects to exceed 450 horsepower for the 5.3L configuration and to generate more than 540 horsepower in the 6.2L offering. With the new 5.3L and 6.2L EcoTec3 engines incorporating such technological advances as direct injection and variable valve timing, Callaway engineers now have even greater control of engine operating parameters. These features provide additional tools for improved compatibility with supercharging’s positive manifold pressure, as well as a clearer path for 50-state emissions compliance and extended durability.
Wheel, tire, suspension, interior and body upgrade development is well under-way, with these options being made available coincident with Callaway Supercharged SportTruck launches later this year.
Callaway Supercharged versions of 2014 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Denali and Escalade are available now, as these models remain largely unchanged for 2014.
Other Callaway products in development for GM’s latest truck and SUV offerings include a specific version of their legendary Honker air intake and DD exhaust systems. These products are being made available for the first time as stand alone components, to be installed by the consumer or Authorized Callaway Retailer, on otherwise stock GM trucks and SUVs.
All Callaway vehicle packages and products are made available through an exclusive network of Callaway Authorized Retailers. Please visit callawaycars.com for further information.
