About the Jason Plato accident while he was testing the Caparo T1 you all know. But now, is time too see what happened at the testings: the Caparo T1 in flames!
Jason Plato, SEAT Sport UK’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship driver, was testing the Caparo T1 for the Channel 5 Fifth Gear programme. The car burst into flames at an estimated 150mph. Plato managed to come out suffering only minor burns to both hands, his face and the back of the neck.

Caparo T1 made its final testings the other days. The "beast" is ready to be yours! The final car will make its debut at the Goodwood festival of Speed, from 22 to 24 June. It will be available for sale starting July.
Powered by a 3.5-litre Caparo V8 engine, the T1 is the first vehicle to break through the 1,000 bhp-per-tonne barrier (1,045 bhp-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio). The engine produce 575 bhp at 10500 rpm and a peak torque of 310 lbs-ft at 9000 rpm. It only weights 550 kg.
The Caparo T1, a high performance two-seater sports car, is in its final development stages. The company is putting the finishing touches to the first car it has ever produced. The vehicle is designed for customers that seek the ultimate track day experience in a road drivable vehicle.

Caparo T1 to make its ’debut in action’ at Goodwood Festival of Speed
The much heralded Caparo T1 will make its first public appearance as a running car at the 15th Goodwood Festival of Speed. The T1 will be one of the star attractions at this world famous UK event, which will be held over the weekend of 22-24 June 2007.

The dramatic 1,000bhp-per-tonne T1, which defines an entirely new breed of supercar that is lighter than a Caterham but with twice the power-to-weight ratio of a Bugatti Veyron, will be unveiled at the show by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II.
The ultra lightweight T1, which weighs less than 500kg, is a British designed 2-seater which has been developed using aerospace and high formula racing technology. The compact Caparo V8 engine develops approximately 500bhp and the resultant 1,000bhp-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio endows the T1 with an extraordinary 0-60mph time of 2.5 seconds, 0-100mph time of 5 seconds and 0-100-0mph time of less than 10 seconds making it the world’s fastest accelerating and braking road car. It is also fast round corners with 3g braking and cornering ability equivalent to a Le Mans Prototype.
