Compaired to the original expensive models, these miniature look-a-likes cost a lot less (about $100- up).
If you are inerested in buying a RC car, here are some helpful tips in how to find the right one...
When buying a RC car for drifting, it is better to buy electric RC cars, rather than the nitro models. The Nitro RC cars would probably burn the clutch out, and possibly overheat the engine. It is recommended for motors, that you use a high torque. Also, gear your car for acceleration rather than top speed. You should also use a shaft drive RC car rather than a belt driven transmission for your drifter. The shaft drive provides good throttle response, whereas the belt drive cars might give some backlash due to the belt design. These cars can be found anywhere from the internet to the stores.

Unfortunately, they do not come ready to be drifted. These cars have to be modified and altered to get them to successfully drift. The only item you need to convert your touring car into a drift car is to change the tires. To do so, you can buy specially made drift tires made by Yokomo. These are rubber tires with grooves, onto which you can mount the Yokomo made drift rings.
It is no secret that watching these cars move, it is hard not to get hooked.
