Car commercials can be boring as hell but some still worth the time. Check especially the commercials from exotic car makers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche

Video: Kia taps golf superstar Michelle Wie to promote the Soul

There’s no question that Kia’s target market for the Soul crossover aren’t the daddy types that frequent golf clubs on a nice and warm Sunday morning. No, according to Kia, that’s not how they roll.

Instead, the Korea-based manufacturer has set its sights on a much younger market; the 20-somethings that are making their way up to the world to establish a name for themselves. And who better to epitomize this market than 20-year old golf sensation – and millionaire – Michelle Wie.

Nevermind that Wie is Korean herself, although Kia probably figured that having a local celebrity whose known worldwide to push and promote the Soul to her age group would be a great idea, but she is also one of the most recognized 20-year-olds in the world. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she also has a strong influence as an endorser.

Needless to say, the Soul isn’t for the slacks-wearing, tucked-shirt hopping fathers with golf club memberships. It’s for the young, hip, and happening. That, after all, is how they roll.

Peugeot releases new ad on soon-to-be released 508

Peugeot’s new flagship sedan, the 508, is scheduled to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month, but the Lion brand is doing a pre-emptive strike on the proceedings by releasing a full-length ad of both the sedan and wagon variant of the 508.

The video gives us a nice little preview of what to expect when the car makes its debut in Paris at the end of September. In addition to the two unique style variants, the ad showed us a few of the 508’s features, including a start-stop push button, a pop-up information display, and a panoramic sun-roof, which we’ve been told will come as an optional feature for anyone who might want to add it in to their cars.

Shortly after making its Paris debut, the 508 is expected to find its way into dealerships sometime in the first quarter of next year where it is expected to be available in a number of engine and fuel variants with a hybrid version set to follow suit in a year’s time.

Video: Nissan Leaf - Polar Bear commercial

Nissan’s new commercial for the Leaf electric vehicle will either make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, or it will make you question the direction Nissan is going with this whole thing. The commercial starts off with a lonely Polar Bear who, in seeing that its polar wonderland is melting away, finds its way into a suburban town. The polar bear finds himself in a garage of a Nissan Leaf owner and proceeds to give the owner a hug for thinking about him and his home. We guess it’s better than those other commercials where the bears have bits and pieces of toilet paper stuck to their butts, but we have to wonder what those guys who deny global warming would have to say to all of this. We, on the other hand, find it rather touching.

Refresher: The Nissan Leaf features a set of batteries made up of laminated lithium ion cells that are capable of delivering over 90 kW of power and weigh only 440 pounds. The battery pack sends it stored energy to the Leaf’s front mounted electric drive motor that only outputs 80 of those kilowatts for a maximum output of 107 HP. Nissan claims that the Leaf will take 8 hours for a full charge from a 200 V source; so a high capacity 220 V outlet is recommended, otherwise it will take twice as long for a full charge from a standard 110 V AC outlet.

Chevrolet Cruze Ads Are Warming Up

As with any new car, we can expect to see ads popping up like zits on a teenager’s face. The new ads for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze are just starting to appear on the web, which means it won’t be long until we see them on TV.

As of late, GM has a history of attacking other manufacturers, mostly Toyota and Honda, in its advertisements. This time it’s not different, as the ad clearly targets the Corolla. The second ad that you will see isn’t an attack, but rather an overview of all the positive things that have been said about the new kid on the block.

Frankly, we’re just happy that it’s Tim Allen doing the commercials this time and not Howie Long, as those were painfully bad. Expect see the ads hit the television waves sometime in the near future.

Hit the jump to see the new videos.

Video: Lexus IS - Music Track

The last commercial we saw from Lexus was none other than the "Pursuit of Perfection" which featured the LF-A shattering a crystal glass with the use of its "perfect pitch". And since Lexus is a good display of class and creativity, they have released another commercial that highlights the musical talents of the new IS sedan. The spot is called "Music Track" and features "122 percussion instruments arranged to create a precision-driving course full of angles and straightaways." Each instrument comes equipped with a lever that is positioned to allow the cruising IS sedan to press it as it passes by. This positioning allows the Ultrasonic Blue 2011 Lexus IS sport sedan to become a master musician with each note it creates.

The commercial highlights the precision of the IS sedan, but the main man behind the wheel of the luxury vehicle is professional stunt driver, Eddie Braun. Together, the car and man duo are successful at playing each note without even coming close to knocking any of the instruments over. Nicely played, Lexus.

Video: The new Cadillac CTS-V "Competition" commercial

A number of days ago, we showed you a video of the making of Cadillac’s new commercial for the CTS-V sedan’s Nurburgring run, which, incidentally enough, occurred a little over two years ago.

Claiming to be the world’s fastest four-door sedan, Cadillac’s time of 7:59.32 may not be anywhere near the neighborhood of some of the world’s most exotic cars, but when it comes to four-doors, the CTS-V sedan is the standard bearer for running the legendary Nurburgring race track. And while the number is impressive given the circumstances, Cadillac doesn’t see it as a competitive time, but as a starting block to which the company aims to push faster and work harder to improve on their time.

Then again, two years is a long time for a record to stand, especially in the auto industry where a technological race to be faster and more powerful is an everyday occurrence. There was even talk that a Porsche Panamera Turbo – another four-door – eclipsed the CTS-V’s record by thee seconds with a time of 7:56. But despite not having the record anymore, Cadillac’s time is impressive nonetheless, especially given the fact that unlike Porsche, the American brand isn’t particularly known for its speed.

Video: MINI Countryman(s) "Getaway" commercial

We haven’t heard from MINI in quite some time so forgive us for being a little worried. As the undisputed kings of unconventional marketing, MINI has a special place in our hearts for being, well, a little on the eccentric side.

And just when we were starting to get worried, MINI jumps right on back with a new out-of-the-box commercial just like old times.

In their new 60-second ad, we see the MINI Countryman – actually, a lot of it – running roughshod on a quaint little town, multiplying to the hundreds like ants chasing a delectable sweet. Of course, a real Countryman isn’t capable of the multiplying act – that’s some supposedly new CGI trick at work – and it surely can’t fly from a cliff and down into a dock and make it in one piece.

But in the fantastical world of MINI, anything is possible. And if these guys can think of zany commercials like this, who are we to argue with that.

Promoting the Ford Fiesta, Film Riot style

We haven’t come across anything this hilariously weird in quite some time, and for that, we have to give props to Film Riot.

As the folks behind some wildly entertaining online videos, Film Riot took it upon themselves to promote the new Ford Fiesta in a three-minute commercial that can best be described as ‘different’. Different in a good way or bad way? Well, that’s up to you to decide. But it is funny, in a funky kind of way. They did find success in belting out the Fiesta’s features in a catchy rhyme so we have to give them credit for that.

In any case, it is interesting to point out that Ford is actually a sponsor of Film Riot so it wouldn’t surprise us if the Blue Oval had something to do with this commercial on top of its own campaign to promote their quirky new hatch.

Hey, anything to get some mileage on the news, right? And if that was their rationale, well, consider the battle won. And if you can get away with calling the new Fiesta "so pimping and so sexy", then that’s an added plus.

Video: Mercedes SLS AMG "Triumph" commercial

We have to admit; this is one of the coolest commercials we’ve seen in quite a while. Of course, when it comes to car commercials, no brand comes out with better pieces than Mercedes-Benz.

“It’s the universal gesture, a way of telling the world you ‘did it’ without saying a word,” the narrator of this commercial says. And to prove his point, we’re treated to clips of people – some famous, some not so – raising their arms in a sign of victory and triumph. Yep, there’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Muhammad Ali, Michelle Kwan, and Roger Federer raising their arms in sheer joy.

Then, the video cuts to the Mercedes SLS AMG opening its gullwing doors. You don’t need to be Einstein to figure out what the symbolism behind that is.

Awesome commercial, Mercedes-Benz.

Video: How much can you pack into a Honda Jazz?

Here in the US, we know this car as the Honda Fit, but in other parts of the world, it goes by another moniker; ‘the Honda Jazz’.

In Australia, the Jazz is currently in the middle of a hilarious promotional campaign called ‘Jazz Packing’. It’ hilarious because we watched the set of videos the campaign has released and we couldn’t stop our eyes from getting teary-eyed from all the hysterical laughing.

Basically, the ads were made to show exactly how versatile the Jazz really is. It’s got loads of room on the interior, it’s got 10 cup holders – that’s right, 10! – and it’s a practical ride for just about anybody, even if you’re a bodybuilder, a rapper, a hipster, and, of course, a ninja.

Check out these four hilarious ads and be sure to adhere our warnings that there will be massive loads of skimpy Speedos, “mystical” windows, tied-up pirates, and a reference to Haruki Murakami. We’re not making this stuff up.

More of the hilarity after the jump.
