Car Crashes, always fun to watch, and a good reality call for all of us who love speed. Keep the road safe.

Toyota has invested a lot into the redesigned 2014 Corolla sedan, heralding its new designs both inside and out as fresh and exciting, but despite the new looks, the Corolla falls short in the safety department. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety ranks the new Corolla as “marginal” in the small-overlap crash test.

The new-for-2013 small overlap crash test has caught many automakers off-guard with its stringent new standards, but Toyota is feeling the ill effects with many of its vehicles. The Camry , Prius V , and RAV4 all received a “poor” rating in the new test. As a result, those vehicles will not qualify for the IIHS Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ honors.

During the test, the Corolla suffered damage to the driver’s foot well, raising the chances of lower-leg injuries. The dummy’s head also rolled to the left of the airbag and could potentially strike the A-pillar or dashboard. Luckily, the side curtain airbag deployed properly and prevented any injuries to the dummy’s head.

Toyota was obviously not happy with the results. Spokesman John Hanson even questioned the new standard’s relevancy by saying, “When all-new crash tests are introduced by the [IIHS], we need to be confident that the changes needed to accommodate the tests will enhance overall safety in real-world crashes.”

The IIHS says the new standards are in response to research suggesting that 25 percent of all highway deaths are caused by small overlap head-on collisions.

The news isn’t all bad for Toyota, however. The redesigned Scion tC earned the second-highest safety rating of “acceptable” in the small-overlap frontal crash test back in August.

With the Fisker offices all boarded up and awaiting a final sale to some random foreign country, who are we to turn to for high-end vehicle fires? Well, since Tesla has been everything that Fisker has not since, well, forever, who better to step into the automobile-flambé role than Fisker’s one time competitor that wasn’t really a competitor, but still was — or however the two used to spin that whole deal...

Yup, what you see in the video above is a Tesla Model S doing its best Fisker Karma impression, and we must say that it’s doing a mighty fine job indeed. Reports from Tesla claim that this Model S struck metal debris on the roadway and the debris caused damage to the battery pack. The driver continued on his merry way, despite the vehicle’s warning systems telling him to pull over and shut the vehicle off. The end result is the expensive BBQ you see above.

Mental note to all Tesla Model S owners; this is not a 2002 Cavalier where the check engine light is safe to ignore and easily blocked out by a few inches of electrical tape. This is a high-tech electric car with enough juice to make Texas’ electric chair blush in envy. When it says "pull over," you just may want to listen to it.

Fortunately, the driver wasn’t physically hurt, but we’re sure his wallet will feel the pain when it comes insurance premium time. Unfortunately for Tesla, its stock didn’t take too kindly to the flaming Model S, as it dropped 6 percent on Wednesday and continued to fall as of noon on Thursday. It is on a slight upswing for now, but this just goes to show just how badly one driver’s negligence can harshly impact a company.

We’ll keep you updated.

We can’t even begin to imagine how harrowing an experience it is to crash a car at high speeds. That’s the kind of scenario we wouldn’t wish on anybody, even our worst enemies.

But some people just don’t have the luck, or safety bearings, as other people. In this particular case, it was a combination of both things. At the recent Hellendoorn Rally in the Netherlands, driver Harry Kleinjan was driving a Porsche 911 RSR during the rally when the brakes presumably locked on one bend, sending Kleinjan and his navigator straight into a cement barricade.

But the crash itself wasn’t the scariest thing to happen to the two; it was what happened after it.

Upon hitting the cement barrier, the 911 RSR immediately shot off the ground, smacked the barricade another time sending the wheels off of the race car before flipping over and hurtling straight into a river on its head. It’s the kind of scary crash that you normally see in movie, except that in the latter’s case, those crashes are planned and staged.

Neither happened on this occasion but fortunately, both Kleinjan and his navigator escaped their all-too-real brush with death without any serious injuries.

In the end, that’s the most important thing and given how the 911 RSR pretty much flew off the track, them coming out of the ordeal with their limbs intact was a bigger win than crossing the finish line first.

Ferrari has a lot riding on the LaFerrari supercar . As the brand’s new halo model and the successor to the legendary Enzo , the LaFerrari is being developed with the intention of turning it into one of the most prized hypercars in the market today.

So you can excuse Ferrari for testing its new pride and joy to the limit at its Fiorano test track. It’s highly important for the automaker to ensure that the LaFerrari is in tip-top shape when production finally starts, and episodes like the supercar’s recent brake failure are all par for the course.

It’s still an embarrassing sight to see a LaFerrari conk out during its testing run — that’s probably why the company hastily covered the car in a red cloth to hide its identity — but we all have to understand that Ferrari would much rather see its exotic lose it under its watch than when a buyer angrily calling to tell the company that the LaFerrari was a piece of junk.

It’s a case of having the right perspective in situations like this. So when you see the LaFerrari lose its brake like how this fan managed to capture to it on video, it’s probably something that Ferrari wouldn’t mind seeing so that it can work out all of the supercar’s kinks before sending off all 499 models for the expected million-dollar price tag it will command.

Jaguar F-Type Roadster

When Ferrari launched the 458 Italia , supercar lovers everywhere stood up and took notice. Things took a turn for the worse, as 458 Italias around the world started catching fire. After 10 units went up in flame just a few days after leaving the factory, Ferrari launched an investigation and eventually solved the problem, which likely cost a pretty penny.

It looks like now the history is about to repeat itself, as another new and exciting European sports car is running about the same pattern. The Jaguar F-Type is one of the latest and greatest sports cars to hit the market recently and Jag already delivered eight units in Belgium alone. Well, now there are only seven, as one unit in Herentals, Belgium went up in flame and burned to a crisp.

According to the driver, while he was cruising on the E313 he spotted a "defect" in the vehicle. He then pulled his new F-Type off of the highway and by the time he got out of the car, a fire broke out and and burned the Jag to an unrecognizable heap of charred metal and plastic. Fortunately though the driver was unhurt.

According to Jaguar officials, an expert will be sent in Belgium to investigate the event.

You can see images of the burned-up rig here.

We’ll start off by noting that if you ever find yourself with the opportunity to drive a supercar, like the Koenigsegg CCR, make sure you respect its power and ease yourself into it. Driving like a complete maniac the second you get behind the wheel is a recipe for disaster, as a group of spectators at Gran Turismo Polonia found out the hard way.

Apparently, a Norwegian driver found himself behind the wheel of a Koenigsegg CCR tried to impress the 60,000’s event spectators a little bit too much.

The details that are currently available allege that the driver switched off the
CCR’s traction control, which was his first mistake. It is evident by from the video that the CCR was too much for the driver to handle, let alone without traction control on, as he lost control of the car just circling to the starting line.

Well, despite the close call at the beginning, the driver chose to continue his asshat-style driving and launched from the starting line at full tilt on the slippery track without traction control. Then, just a few hundred feet later, the inevitable occurred, as he lost control of the CCR and plowed into bystanders, injuring 19 people in the process. Four of the bystanders suffered pretty serious injuries too.

We hope everyone recovers fully and that this driver learned a valuable lesson in the process.

We don’t know about you, but we are pretty tired of all this Justin Bieber drama. Seemingly ever few months we have a new story of him driving like a moron. It just keeps on repeating over and over again.

Last time he hit the front page he was accused of six moving violations in Dubai . Now it looks like on Monday night he struck a photographer with his white Ferrari 458 Italia while leaving the Laugh Factory with his friend, Lil Twist.

Up to this point, Bieber wasn’t charged with any crime for the incident, but if the photographer decides to sue The Beib, it will be the second lawsuit against him. The first one was opened just a few weeks ago when a man accuses Bieber of ordering his bodyguard to commit assault and theft of the photographer’s camera.

There are no details on why or how Beiber hit the man, but we think it is safe to say he likely wasn’t driving in the safest manner.

We don’t know about you, but we think is time for Bieber to hire a chauffeur as he is not the best driver we have seen out there. The more we hear about Beibers incidents behind the wheel of his various supercars, the more we are starting to wonder if people think that all Ferrari drivers drive like a-holes...

When it comes to cars, nothing breaks our hearts more than seeing a supercar go up in flames. So, imagine the depression in the room when we watched this video.

A trailer full of exotics - four of them, actually - all turned into scrap metal after a fire in a BMW eventually led to all four cars getting completely engulfed in a fiery blaze. According to news reports in Thailand, the cars were an unidentified BMW, a Lamborghini Murcielago , a Ferrari F430 and a Bentley Continental.

The cars were being towed on a trailer with the driver saying he was transferring them from a showroom in Bangkok to a gas station in the Si Sa Ket province on the Thai-Cambodia border, where an "unknown person" would be there to pick them up. Sounds like a shady transaction, huh?

But all that changed when all four exotics caught fire, not only destroying some fine supercars but also costing a total of 100 million baht, which is about $3.3 million based on current exchange rates.

This isn’t the first time a supercar has unexpectedly gone up in flames. Click past the jump to see previous occasions where an exotic met a rather untimely and fiery demise.

Never ever open a car door while moving…

This is a lesson George Michael had to learn in a very unpleasant way. It looks like the famous musician opened aRange Rover ’s door and tried to pull it shut again because it wasn’t shut properly. Before he could close the door, he fell out of the car at 70 mph.

The incident happened on a motorway near St Albans and a woman approaching from behind almost ran him over. Katherine Fox said that when she saw him falling from the car she slamed on her brakes and reversed her Mini , so that no other vehicles would hit him.

According to Fox, George Michael had his clothes ripped and there was blood everywhere. Still, when he was transported to the hospital, his publicist Connie Filipello said that the injuries are just "superficial cuts and bruises." Michael’s partner, Fadi Fawaz, also reported the Michael was doing well at the hospital.

Police officers have opened an investigation and a final decision on what happened will be announced the in the upcoming weeks. We’ll keep an eye on Michael’s condition and report back if anything changes, but he seems like everything is going to be fine.

Here is the U.S., we sometimes take for granted the safety on our roads. Well, the above video may just remind you…

When this video begins it appears to be an ordinary day for the driver, with everyone driving quietly through a tunnel. But, what starts nice ends up as a big mess really quickly, as a driver of a DS4 decides to test the limits of his compact hatchback.

The cars involved in this incident are a BMW X5 M and a Citroen DS4 , both driven at high speeds. And when both speeding cars zip past the poor guy taking the video and attempt to merge into the same lane, the destruction begins.

The problem is that not only those two irresponsible drivers were involved in the crash, but also a bunch of other cars which had no other fault that just being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Please remember this is not the way you are supposed to drive a car, so please do not try this at in your car!
