Kia cee’d xR to be released soon

We’ve seen the production version of the SW and prototypes of the hardtop Cabrio and the 3door hatch, but now we show you a top model called cee’d xR. Kia’s sporty version of the Cee’d should be equipped with a 2.0-liter Turbo engine pumping out approximately 200Hp.

The styling is similar to the ones of the pro_cee’d concept shown at the Paris Motor Show last fall. On the front end is a black diffuser that forces air into the lower intake, but in the back a body-colored diffuser is recessed into the new lower bodywork out back.

This all-new 2.0-litre turbo, which is being developed in conjunction with Hyundai, will also feature in rival for the Audi TT. Also Kia is working on a Ford Fiesta rival, which is expected in showrooms by 2009.

So Kia has aspirations of being the sporty brand to Hyundai’s volume image, but unfortunately, the cee’d isn’t sold in the U.S..
