Mercedes SLC - first photos

It appears that rumors that Mercedes-Benz will be building a car to compete with the forthcoming Audi R8 and the Porsche 911 Turbo are true. Spy photos published by Winding Road show that car, to be built on the next generation SL platform and with liberal use of carbon fiber for the roof and body panels. 

Expected to produce at least 500 hp from a front 6.2 liter V-8, the car is expected to be revealed at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show.
