Next C63 AMG to be powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine

It seems that Mercedes is getting very serious about its sports cars and intends to blow any competition from the European market. Powered by a 6.2-litre V8 with an output of 475 hp, the C63 AMG will be a very strong competitor for the BMW M3 and the Audi RS4. Mercedes will unveil the ultimate beats in September at Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new C63 AMG will feature significant changes to the front axle and steering system, to improve feel and response. It will feature an aggressive dynamic set-up mirrored in its styling, which is said to be much more confident than the previously very subtle AMG products.

To obtain mean quicker gearshifts and more control, the C63 AMG will combine the best of a torque-converter automatic and a DSG-type gearbox.

The C63 AMG will go on sale in early 2008.
