Porsche-Golf coming in 2012?

It sounds strange, is true, but according to Autobild, Porsche will build a new model based on the Volkswagen Golf sometime in 2012. The idea is absurd, and it only makes sense if Porsche is postioning itself to become more mainstream and compete with BMW.

But on the current number of Autobild, their is an image and next to it you can read: "compact secret projects until 2012. the Porsche-Golf."

If Porsche will take control over Volkswagen it will be obvious that Porsche and Volkswagen will share even a larger number of their platforms, but a Porsche-Golf will definitely take away the factor that sets Porsche apart from other German luxury auto makers.
