2009 Acura NSX - won’t be a hybrid model

  news

In an interview with Autocar, Honda CEO Takeo Fakui revealed that the NSX will be launched at the next Japanese motor show in 2009 and will be badged as an Acura.

"The new supercar is necessary for Honda. The new NSX must have speed and be easy to drive and be considerate to the enviroment. But it’s not a hybrid."

It will be powered by a 5.0-litre V10 petrol engine currently still in development, but that engine wouldn’t be getting any assistance from an electric motor. The maximum output will be 500 hp.

The 2009 NSX will be a front-engined 2+2 model, featuring an aluminum body like the last model.

I do hope they rethink this, especially for a 2009 model

Good. I was hoping that they would keep the all wheel drive system fully mechanical.

We’ll never find out about the real NSX until the week of its release.
