2009 BMW 5-Series renderings

  news

BMW will unveil an all-new 5-Series in March 2009. Featuring a new, evolutionary-design, the upcoming 5-Series will be inspired by the CS Concept, like all future BMW models.

The 2009 5-Series will feature larger grille treatment and greater use of LEDs to give its lighting a more hi-tech and distinguished look.

Under the hood there will be a new range-topping 4.4-litre V8 turbo with direct injection. It uses a similar twin-turbo system to BMW’s existing turbocharged 3.0-litre six for more than 400bhp.

BMW will focus on producing better economy and emissions. This is why the company plans to offer it also with a hybrid engine.

are you sure there is going to be a make over in 2009, as i have just booked 2009 model 530 without knowing that new shape is on the card?

Bimmer Lover: Are you kidding? This new model looks awesome, way better than the current model, which by the way, I’m very fond of. It looks extremely sporty, similar to the Lexus GS450 and new Jaguar XF. I guess BMW is also going after that "4-door-coupe" look ala Benz CLS, Lexus GS, & now Jaguar XF. I love the aggressive & sporty stance. Looks extremely athletic.

I kind of like this newer model, if indeed this is how it’s going to look. The older model looked too boxy and I think the 5 series need a new or fresher look like the 3 series.
