The little brother of the Golf, the Polo, is up to it's renewal. The design of the current Polo is a bit dated, and, in my opinion, the facelift didn't help any.

What the Polo needs is a bit more character and attitude. The overall design on these sketches show this. Big wheels, double exhaust pipes and the agressive styling of the front show real in-your-face mentality.

The headlights are pretty basic, round shaped, inspired by the first Polo, from 1975, while the rear lights are a mix of the headlight styling and the 'ring' shaped reflector VW uses in the lights of their current models.

The U shaped front grille is tipically, modern VW-style, freshened up a bit, by placing a big VW logo at the center of it and moving the air intake as low as possible. This is, I think, a design style that is still in it's starting shoes but is going to be very popular.

It will have a length of almost 4 meters, being in this way larger inside. It will also have a higher roof.

Petrol engines will include a 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit developing 60bhp or 70bhp; an 85bhp 1.4 four-cylinder; and a 105bhp 1.2 super-turbo. There will also be a smooth new 1.6-litre common-rail TDI diesel, tuned to produce 75bhp, 90bhp or 105bhp. A Bluemotion model, with an 80bhp 1.4-litre TDI unit, will be offered, too, and all powerplants will meet Euro V emissions regulations. At the top of the line-up, hot hatch fans will be excited by a new flagship GTI powered by a 170bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged TSI motor.
