While the Audi A5 will get a minor facelift for 2010, the big news is the smaller engine. We found out back in November that Audi will be downsizing many of its quickest models. While the current RS6 has a 580 hp 5.0-liter twin-turbo V10 engine, the RS6-based RS5, will get 450 hp 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8.

While reduced engines and less power are usually tough to get excited about, the smaller engine should make the car substantially lighter. The RS5 is expected to have a 0 to 60 mph time around 4.5 seconds, which should be very close to the RS6.
