At the Los Angeles Auto Show Ford unveiled the 2011 Mustang V6, a muscle car powered by a 3.7 Liter six cylinder engine. But for all of you out there who think a muscle car needs a V8 engine, Ford is coming with a good news: the 2011 model will also be offered with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that will delivers a total of 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. The new engine produces 83 hp/liter and will return 25 mpg. It will feature four valves per cylinder and twin independent variable valve timing and will be mated to a either a 6R80 automatic transmission or a MT82 six-speed manual. By comparison, a Camaro SS delivers a total of 426 hp, and a Dodge Challenger SRT8 a total of 425 hp. We will see the car in January 2010 at the Detroit Auto Show. .
5 comments: 2011 Ford Mustang will get 412 hp 5.0-liter V8 engine What the heck! 412 isn’t enough for a muscle car? Are you out of your mind? It’s on the level of a muscle car that compare to the competitor car of this car like the Challenger and the Camaro, their power is in the same level. Anyways V8 suits on this one and it’s fuel efficient ECU.
IMO v6 engine is enough for this one because of Oil Crisis, and it is not a good Idea to have a V8 engine who consumes a lot of oil. well this is just my opinion.
