At the Los Angeles Auto Show Ford unveiled the 2011 Mustang V6, a muscle car powered by a 3.7 Liter six cylinder engine. But for all of you out there who think a muscle car needs a V8 engine, Ford is coming with a good news: the 2011 model will also be offered with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that will delivers a total of 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.

The new engine produces 83 hp/liter and will return 25 mpg. It will feature four valves per cylinder and twin independent variable valve timing and will be mated to a either a 6R80 automatic transmission or a MT82 six-speed manual.

By comparison, a Camaro SS delivers a total of 426 hp, and a Dodge Challenger SRT8 a total of 425 hp.

We will see the car in January 2010 at the Detroit Auto Show.
