The 2011 Jaguar XJ->ke1206 is scheduled for release in the US sometime in April of 2010, but it hasn't stopped the car from already pursuing a career in entertainment as Jaguar->ke39's new luxury sedan is set to be prominently featured in rapper Jay-Z's new music video, 'On to the Next One'.

Mike O' Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars, said: "JAY-Z is an icon who has blazed an unprecedented path through music, fashion, business and sports; making his video "On To The Next One" the absolutely right vehicle for the all-new 2011 Jaguar XJ to make its global entertainment industry debut."

As one of the most influential figures in the music industry today, Jay-Z sure knows how to make a splash on car enthusiasts with his music videos. Before using the 2011 Jaguar XJ for his latest work, Jay-Z has already used a Pagani Zonda->ke942, a Ferrari F430, and a Maybach Exeloro->ke2707 in his previous videos so none of us should really be surprised that he chose a car like the 2011 Jaguar XJ for his latest work.

While the video is still far from a finished product, Jaguar has already inviting everyone to check out the Interactive Jaguar website in January to catch the first-look of Jay-Z's 'On to the Next One' video.

Press release after the jump.

THE ALL-NEW 2011 JAGUAR XJ MAKES ITS GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT DEBUT IN JAY-Z'S FORTHCOMING MUSIC VIDEO "ON TO THE NEXT ONE"

All-New XJ Showcased on Film as a New Cultural Icon of Success

MAHWAH, N.J., December 2, 2009 – Jaguar today announced that the all-new 2011 XJ luxury sedan will be featured in multi-platinum artist JAY-Z's next video, "On to the Next One," from his latest chart topping platinum-plus The Blueprint 3 album. Jaguar previewed a 60-second trailer chronicling the XJ's role in the video at their Los Angeles Jaguar XJ launch party at Milk Studios Los Angeles. JAY-Z fans and auto enthusiasts will be able to log onto www.InteractiveJaguar.com and www.Jaguar.com to see the video in its entirety in January.

"JAY-Z is an icon who has blazed an unprecedented path through music, fashion, business and sports; making his video "On To The Next One" the absolutely right vehicle for the all-new 2011 Jaguar XJ to make its global entertainment industry debut," said Mike O' Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars. "Just as the concept of the video speaks to success and the birth of new ideas, all-new XJ is a breakthrough luxury automobile that we designed to elevate the luxury car experience and create a new automotive icon for style and indulgence."

On to the Next One," with artist/producer Swizz Beatz, is the fourth single (following the # 1 Billboard HOT 100 single “Empire State of Mind,” with Alicia Keys) to be released from JAY-Z's newest album, "Blueprint 3". Debuting at #1, The Blueprint 3 sold over 475,000 copies in its first week and remained in the #1 position for 2 weeks. The album became JAY-Z's 11th # 1 on the Billboard albums chart, propelling him past Elvis as the solo act with the most # 1 albums in Billboard’s history.

The all-new 2011 Jaguar XJ was revealed to critical acclaim this past July, and features a new frame that is pressure cast from aluminum and magnesium to give the XJL a strong, light architecture that improves fuel efficiency, structural rigidity and performance. A panoramic glass roof enables the car to have a lower, more streamlined roofline, while dramatically enhancing the feeling of light and space inside. The vehicle's LED light clusters wrap stylishly over the rear wings, and feature three dramatic red vertical stripes while the elongated teardrop shape of the side windows establishes the car’s silhouette. The sleek design and refined luxury is continued inside the all-new XJ by mixing newly advanced technologies and contemporary design to create an environment more akin to a state-of-the-art living space than a car cabin. Chrome and piano black detailing provide an eye-catching contrast to the beautifully crafted leather and veneer surfaces. At the center of the instrument panel is an analog clock with individual chrome chaplets, a spun metal face and iridescent blue background; a look inspired by luxury watches.

The all new Jaguar XJ will go on sale in North America in April 2010.
