The McLaren P11 super car has been spotted again testing in Bahrain. The future McLaren is in the final stages of testings before its official debut this fall. The highly anticipated super car will compete head to head with models like the Ferrari F-430 and Lamborghini Gallardo when it goes on sale in 2011.
The P11 will be powered by a 500 HP version of the Mercedes Benz V8 tweaked by McLaren, at the Mahle Power train facility in the U.K. The engine will send power directly to the rear wheels via a semi-automatic gear box featuring race-inspired steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The road going McLaren will be able to do the 0 to 60 MPH sprint in under 4 seconds and reach a top speed in excess of 200 MPH.
