Remember the GT-R spied the other weeks testing at Nurburgring? It was a prototype of a 2011 model. But why did Nissan wanted a new model when it has just launched the 2010MY? The answer is simple: they need more power. And if the 2010 model brings an extra 5 hp. well the 2011 one will go up to 500 hp! Besides that the 2011 Nissan GT-R will add new aero bits and a redesigned front bumper. Under the hood there will be a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. .

taladega (289) Posted on 05.11.2009 A monstrous speed for a monstrous beast. I hope the Nissan team really hit its expectation whether it is really a go for 500hp the Nurburgrin will take us to the right record when it goes out for 2011.
evo10 (318) Posted on 05.11.2009 If Nissan engineers will defy gravity and friction with this desirous 500Hp upgrade for the GT-R then what is next?
scooby2 (421) Posted on 05.11.2009 500 HP. Wow that sounds imppressive. It shows that the Nissan engineers were able to make it well why not dream big time. I think that is what the Japs automaker is targeting for their 2011. Record breaking GT-R.
AK47 (1027) Posted on 05.11.2009 Aamir101, it can be done but you would need to fiddle with the ECU first. rovert213, given that most modified GT-Rs can handle up to 700hp, I’d say it can handle at least a 100 more hp. rovert213 (1) Posted on 05.10.2009 Maybe Nissan should make a gearbox that can handle what it already has first.
Aamir101 (29) Posted on 05.9.2009 Each GT-R is unique, so even a gear box of 1 GT-R will not work properly with other GT-R, so difference of HP is expected (Source TopGear Season 11)
AK47 (1027) Posted on 05.9.2009 Iam confused. The normal GT-R has 485hp, a 5hp bump from the 2009 GT-R. The V spec also has only 485hp. Now the 2011 model will have more hp than the V Spec version and thats just wrong.
