The safety conscious Swedish automaker first introduced the Volvo S60 a concept at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show and then heavily promoted the new car with Volvo the Game, a PC based driving simulator starring none other than the bronze concept. The production version of the upcoming Volvo S60 is not ready for public consumption just yet, as seen by the heavy amount of automotive camouflage and test track background from the spy photo. The final product will debut in its finished form sometime in 2010.

The 2011 Volvo S60 will be powered by a 1.6 Liter turbocharged engine, the concept made 180 HP with the same unit, mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission. On board active safety equipment will include Volvo’s Collision Warning With Full Auto Brake and a pedestrian detection system that can sense and avoid innocent bystanders crossing the street.
