Along with the new A8 luxury sedan Audi is also set to bring a more powerful version for those of you who want to combine luxury with sport. This version was recently caught testing at the Nurburgring test track for the first time.

The 2012 Audi S8 will be distinguished by the standard S-line upgrades like LED lights, lower hanging side skirts, a chrome grille, and side mirrors as well as a set of sporty 21 inch wheels. Audi design director Stefan Sielaff says the S8 will influence future performance Audi models in terms of design which means future models will see more carbon fiber and aluminum.

Under the hood there will be a supercharged V8 engine bringing more low-end torque and better fuel economy than the V10 fitted in the current model. This V8 engine will produce a total output of 444 HP and will be mated to a 7-speed double-clutch S Tronic.

The new Audi S8 will go on sale in 2011 and rumors say it will also be offered in the North American market.
