Oh, the power of the internet. After Volvo released the S60 luxury sedan, they decided that they would also bring a convertible version of the model to the market. This vehicle has yet to be revealed and no one has been able to receive a peek at what the car will look like. Until now. Attending a dealer presentation in Sweden, a ballsy individual sneaked in a camera phone to snap a quick pic of the vehicle. This is the first image of the car. We have to say we love the power of the internet, obviously. Whenever you can get a shot of a car that has yet to be released to the public is always a good day.
This convertible is said to be unveiled sometime in 2012 and, although it will be a convertible version of the S60, it will not be called the S60. Volvo has been throwing around the C60 as a potential name for the car, but, for the sake of simplicity, we will continue to call it the convertible S60. The S60 convertible will be a successor for the C70, and, like the car it replaces, it will feature a folding, hardtop roof with a front fascia identical to the standard S60. The rear lights will also receive some minor changes.
Under the hood there will be the same engine line-up as in the sedan, starting with a 115 HP DRIVe and ending with a T6 turbocharged producing a maximum output of 304 HP and 324.5 lb-ft of torque.
Although we have had the pleasure to take a look at the convertible model of the Volvo S60, we will still have to wait a little longer to receive full specs, prices, and other changes made to the vehicle. That is, of course, if the information isn’t leaked first.
