The 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance->ke2839 is set to kick off on August 18th, 2013. This is one of the few shows that lasts only a day, as it starts at dawn and finalizes with an award presentation from 1:30 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. in the same day.

As its fancy name and high-end location alludes to, this auto show focuses on super-luxury->ke505 cars from the past and present, and even future cars and concepts->ke169. The Pebble Beach show is set on the 18th fairway on the Pebble Beach Links, and the area tends to be pretty cool in the morning and evening, but warm in the daytime, so organizers recommend wearing layered clothing. Additionally, the typical Links dress is not required to attend the show, as organizers permit dress ranging from classy to "resort casual," so break out the Hawaiian shirts, folks!

If you decide to hang out in the area for the entire weekend, there are tons of golf courses to check out, as well as art galleries, local tours, fine dining and high-end shopping venues within a few miles of the event. Additionally, there are numerous automotive events leading up to the Concours that you can attend, should you decide to hang out for the entire week. These events include:

-*Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on Park Ave August 13

-*Automobilia Monterey August 13-14

-*Pebble Beach Auctions by Gooding & Company August 14-18

-*Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance August 15

-*Pebble Beach RetroAuto August 16-18

Rumor has it that Cadillac will unveil a completely new logo, bringing an end to the aging wreath emblem that it has used since 1999. According to the report, the logo will be a one-piece design to give engineers more freedom in designing new Cadillac models. The logo will reportedly make its appearance on a concept car at Pebble Beach, but there are no reports of which concept Cadillac will affix it to.
