After holding the record for the fastest rear-wheel-drive police car, the 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit also became the fastest-ever recorded all-wheel drive model. The result was obtained at Michigan State Police’s (MSP) annual Police Vehicle->ke2339 Evaluation earlier this week at Grattan Raceway in Belding, Mich.

The 2014 Charger Pursuit recorded the fastest lap time at 1:33.85 and the fastest average lap time of 1:34.75.

What's more, the 2014 Charger Pursuit was the only car that was capable of achieving a sub-1:34 lap time. This if proof that it delivers the best combination of acceleration, braking, handling and dynamics. The new time obtained by the 2014 Charger Pursuit comes to complement the previous record-setting, 1:33.70 lap time obtained by the 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit V-8 rear-wheel-drive.

The 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit AWD will be offered to to law enforcement customers in the Spring of 2014.

The 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit is offered with two engine configurations -- V-6 and V-8 -- with the latter offering both rear-wheel- and all-wheel-drive configurations.

The most powerful model will be powered by a 5.7-liter, HEMI V-8 engine that delivers a total of 370 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds, and from 60 mph to 0 in less than 127 feet.

The 3.6-liter, Pentastar V-6 engine delivers 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This version offers E-85 flex-fuel capability.
