2014 Mercedes MLC Coupe Crossover

  news

The BMW X6 is no doubt one of the most successful models BMW has recently launched on the market. So, it should not surprise you the fact that more and more makers announced plans to develop their own version of the X6. After Audi has announced the Q6, Mercedes has also revealed plans for a MLC Coupe-Crossover. Of course everyone saw that coming as there has always been a war between the three companies.

The future MLC will be built on the same platform as the M-Class, but it will be completely different. The exterior design will feature grille, headlights and tail lamps from the CLS limousine, while the general look will be a something similar to the X6. The model will feature the M-Class all-wheel-drive, but without the special off-road capabilities. Engine line-up will start from a standard 265 HP diesel version and will go up to a 544 HP one for the AMG model.

Updated 10/21/2011: During a recent interview with Automotive News, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche has confirmed that Daimler AG will invest $350 million to produce a fifth Mercedes-Benz model at its factory in Vance, Ala., starting in 2015. This fifth model will be a coupe-like version of the M-class SUV that will most likely be called the MLC.

Richard1968’s personal page I like this MLC concept very much,I like it’s aggressive look, but if i look at it’s volume I think it’s the range rover evoque & Porsche cajun’s rival not the x6 competitor . Anyway I think that Mercedes should put this crossover into production very quickly cause the ML design cannot compete the BMW 4x4 since they first started with the year 2000 x5. About power,I think that merc can compete any company with it’s bluefficiency engines.

Most of the car manufacturers nowadays are more focusing on its exterior detailing and not noticing the engine specs of their car. Well, I hope that Mercedes would also boost the engine of this coupe crossover of them.

I think we should wait for another updated article or news about this coupe crossover of Mercedes, but I have to agree with you suzet001, they should all car manufacturers as their competitor.

265 horsepower? I don’t think that it can give a better performance on it, but I’m glad that it will be having a two engine option. I must give some compliment also on its metallic body paint, which is very impressive on it.

Not only that three companies are competing with each other, for me, all manufacturers of cars are competitors. They actually wanted to be a successful one in the car industry but unfortunately, only few got the attention of the crowd.

These three companies are really competitors. If someone makes a version and becomes successful, the other companies will surely make that version too. Let see if this Mercedes version will be as productive as the BMW.

Well, I guess it would be long enough before we can see a production version of this car. Mercedes is currently working on different models and they still need to know if there is a possible dealer for this new model.

hmm.  I wonder if this edition would be as powerful as the X6. This is the first time that I hear about the coupe-crossover version.  The modification in the exterior is kind of impressive. BTW,its a good thing that they offer a engine upgrade for this version.
