Crazy as it sounds, there are just people that have nothing better to do with their money than waste it away on a meaningless drag race between an American classic and an Italian thoroughbred. Yep, you read the title right, too: a $400,000 bet to see which car is faster in a quarter-mile run.
Can you say nuts?
Dan Bilzerian owns what’s described as a tuned-up 1965 427 Shelby Cobra and with nothing else better to do, he decided to engage his friend Tom Goldstein to race against the latter’s 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia in a good old fashion quarter-mile drag race. But instead of settling for bragging rights or a Diet Pepsi at the vending machine, the two men decided to raise the stake to the tune of $400,000.
One race. One winner. One $400,000 bet. Unbelievable.
In what will go down as one of the most expensive “friendly” bets we’ve ever seen, the two buddies bring their machines to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to settle the score and, more importantly, who takes home that ridiculous amount of money.

what is this a sort of betting racing game? Well, I can’t accept that the 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia lose over a vintage car. Now, I can’t stop doubting the reliability of Ferrari 458 Italia.
hmm,. Are they sure that they will actually compete the Shelby with Italia? This is hard I don’t want to see this vintage car lose against the Italia. And Heck! How will I see who win if the video has been already removed?
A nice reminder of the power of Shelby and a teaser to the highly appreciated, technologically advanced Ferrari. Now these guys should dig their brains more to meet up the challenge.
Wow, the owner of the Shelby just won $400,000. Now he can by himself his very own Italia. If that’s the case, that would definitely be a crazy turn of events.
Imagine that, the Cobra was actually able to pull one off the Ferrari. But then again, that one is not really that surprising, since the Shelby is really well known as a powerful car.
$400,000?! Whoa, that is definitely one of the biggest bets that I have seen here. These rich boys and their fast cars are definitely something out of our league.
Oh no! $400,000 as a bet? Those men are totally nuts! However, I’m impressed with the performance of the Cobra! It seems that the old guy Cobra shows teenage Italia on who’s the king of the road!
Now that’s definitely a challenge . The Shelby actually does have some muscle to go against the 458. but I would still go with the Ferrari, as it has more power.
