In its standard version the Nissan GT-R develops a total of 473 HP. That's quite impressive for an every-day sports car, but what can you do when you want more from it? Well, you take it to a tuner and express your desires!

Not happy with his standard GT-R, a customer took his car to Switzer Performance Innovation to see what they could do to make this baby zoom. Of course, Switzer took the job and began seeing where this little piggy could shed some weight. Under the hood they installed their P800 kit which replaces the intercoolers, intakes, and turbos. The result? An impressive 800 HP and 700 lbs-ft of torque.

Hit the jump to check out what Switzer did to lighten this load.

The weight loss didn't stop there, in fact, that didn't even scratch the surface. The brake components were replaced with parts from AP (carbon rotors and brake fluid), new pads, and stainless steel brake lines. They added a ceramic-coated titanium exhaust system, a carbon trunk lid, and new Bride sports buckets. The result? The 3800 lbs was cut down to 3600 lbs.

To further improve the car's performance and handling, they added a fully-adjustable JRZ suspension system, an under-body diffuser, and an Aeromotions wing.

“This car is really an amazing collaborative effort,” offers Tym Switzer. “Everyone involved really came through on this build, and the data we got from JRZ and the brake guys at Stillen who import the AP rotors helped us tie it all together into a coherent package that is at home on the track and in town, too. All we need to do now is get it on the track with the client behind the wheel, and dial it in to his driving style – that's what's really important here, that we get it right for him and deliver the 'track animal' he ordered. Once he's comfortable in the car, we've got a list of GTR 'track records' that we'd like to beat. I think this is the car to do it.”
