High horsepower Porsches are coming back into style.Last summer the German tuning firm, 9ff, released a ridiculously powerful version of Porsche’s current performance figurehead, the GT2. What set the 9ff GT2 apart from the standard vehicle was a tuning kit that could make 670 HP, up from the factory 520 HP, and go 220 MPH.

Not to be outdone by the American tuners, Switzer Performance, and their stock looking 800 HP GT2. 9ff has shot back with a complete reworking of their previous package, complete with a hearty diet of carbon fiber and a paintjob that should be worth a few seconds around a track. Most of the body panels have been replaced with the lightweight black stuff and under normal circumstances it would be a crime to cover it up, but the classic Gulf paint scheme from Le Mans cars like the Ford GT40, Porsche 917 and now Aston Martin's LMP1 entry make this GT2 look at home on a racetrack.

The flat six in the 9ff BT2, makes 850 HP and motivates the uber911 to go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.0 seconds, hit 120 MPH in 8.7 seconds and the all important 300 km/h mark in 18.5 seconds. That is 180 MPH in less time than it takes an average car to complete the quarter mile. Because the 9ff BT2, is an upgrade over their old GT2, the vehicle’s top speed has been raised to 240 MPH, but 9ff will custom tune customers gearboxes with either shorter gearing for enhanced acceleration, or long cogs for even more top end. All this can be yours for only €285,000 ($398,000).
