Alfa Romeo will borrow Jaguar’s RWD platform?

Is long time now since we first heard about Alfa Romeo switching to RWD platform, but now it seems they want to borrow this platform from Jaguar! The decision to switch to RWD platform came after the company trued to compete with German brands, but all their models are on FWD platform.

But as developing a whole new RWD platform will be too costly for Alfa one solution would be to use existing technology from another carmaker. This is where Jag would come in and with a decent RWD set-up Alfa will have decent stab at the US market when it returns.

The most probable platform will be the one used in the XF sedan. Although nothing has been agreed yet rumour has it that Jaguar platforms could also be used in Lancia and even Maserati models.
