Alpha-Romeo 169 Concept at Geneva

The Alfa Romeo 169 will to arrive in 2009 and will share the Maserati Quattroporte’s platform.Here are some spy shots with a possible concept from Alfa Romeo that may be presented to the public next month at the Geneva Motor Show.

These phone-camera images that surfaced on “Alfa Romeo Corse Club” might show us how the new sedan will look.The new Alfa Romeo will compete with models like Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and future 2009 Porsche Panamera. The 169 will be one of the models that will be sold in USA on Alfa Romeo’s return.

Like the 169 this concept may be designed by the Alfa Romeo Styling Centre.The production model will have number of distinctive features that will highlight its strong personality and make it immediately recognizable, in the best Alfa tradition.

The 169 will be the first rear-wheel drive Alfa in nearly two decades. Based on the Quattroporte platform, the 169 will feature a longitudinal engine, RWD and a transaxle gearbox that will help the weight-distribution. This will make from the 169 a very good alternative to Mercedes, BMW and Lexus luxury sedans.
