An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

Posted on by 2

The world’s quintessential high performance machine has and probably will be for some time the Bugatti Veyron . When it was first thought up by the engineers at Volkswagen, we thought they were mad. A car with 1,000 horsepower and a super high top speed of over 250 miles per hour? Yeah right, go work on the new Golf and quiet down.

In a true foot in mouth moment, Bugatti and its crack team of geniuses have produced a car with rocket ship power and a top speed that is simply hard to imagine. The Veyron has always been a car that we have admired and, given the chance, it would be hard to turn down a go in one.

With the success of the Veyron, Bugatti looked to capitalize on their success. They created many different variations of the car with different colors and trims and all sorts of stuff to keep the rich entertained.

Now, Bugatti has gotten bored. They have created a car that has so much power that it’s hard to up it and make it faster and better performing. So, they decided to design new limited production machines for the super rich and, during that time of interior and exterior design modifications, they actually made the car faster with the latest version, the Supersports.

With so many different models, it can be hard to keep them straight. We have assembled a list of every model made to try and simplify things a bit. Most models use the same W16 motor unless otherwise stated.

Hit the jump to see the variations.

Bugatti Veyron F1

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

The Veyron F1 isn’t so much of a special variation, but a super expensive normal car with a fancy license plate. Saeed Abdul Ghafour Khouri shelled out $14.3 Million for the car with the unique plate. Somebody has a bit too much money on their hands.

Bugatti Veyron Anniversary Editions

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

Bugatti has to love itself because they have had a few anniversary models as opposed to just one like most car companies. The first few variations were normal Veyrons with unique colors. The cars combined polished aluminum wings and doors with a driver’s corresponding national racing color — Jean-Pierre (France - blue), Achille Varzi (Italy - red), Malcolm Campbell (England - green), and Hermann Zu Leininger (Germany - white). These four are all that will be made with a price tag of $2.08 million each. Besides the colors, most things stay the same.

Bugatti Veyron Vincero By Mansory

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

Mansory takes performance machines and turns them into unique and highly sought after vehicles for a select few. The Bugatti was the perfect specimen for the company and the work they have done to it is pretty sensational. The Vincero is more powerful than the standard car making an astounding 1109 HP. The exterior has been fitted with hand crafted carbon fiber pieces and dressed up with an LED “V” in the front bumper. The interior features a harmonious combination of luxury and technology with a white and black color combination. The cost of all this, $1 million plus the price of the car.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 LINEA Vincerò d’Oro By Mansory

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

The original version by Mansory was something special, but this new model is out of this world. The styling gets a golden touch with gold wheels, gold mirrors, and gold trim. The body is made of carbon fabric with copper thread. The front end gets the usual “Vincerò-V” to top things off. There is more gold to be seen in the headlight washer nozzle covers, the borders around the daytime running LEDs, and the decorative features on the roof. We have yet to hear a price for this machine, but its probably going to be more than most of us have.

Bugatti Veyron Royal Dark Blue

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

This version might not have the fancy name like the others do, but that doesn’t stop it from being neat. The car had an owner when we first saw it at the Geneva Motor Show, having paid 1.75 million euros for the supercar. The Bugatti features a carbon fiber hood and a rear section that’s painted in Royal Dark Blue, the same color as the air intakes and most of the grilles with the exception of the radiator grille. The central part of the car is painted in Arctic White. The dashboard, trim, and the center console are all dark blue, while the seats and steering wheel are white.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport "Soleil De Nuit"

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

That name is more like it, crazy and hard to pronounce. The name stands for "Son of the Night", and it has polished aluminum accents with the painted Black Blue Metallic skin of the targa top Veyron with a set of "Sang Noir" rims. This car is more for cruising the avenues rather than speed blasts. We have to say, this thing looks good, but unless you live in the Middle East, you can’t have one.

Bugatti Veyron "Sang D’Argent"

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

We aren’t huge fans of the Pur Sang and we aren’t huge fans of this one either. The Veyron "Sang d’Argent" will be a one of a kind Bugatti and will be priced at $2.1 Million. The car combines a highly reflective metallic strip of paint that runs from the front to the back of the car. The inside is covered in a Havana interior with a quilted pattern on the seats and a darker saddle leather covering every surface. Unlike a few of the other models, this vehicle seems to be more discrete than the others, just don’t drive in the sun because that shiny metallic exterior might blind some.

Bugatti Veyron "Nocturne"

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

The Nocturne was first shown at the Dubai Auto Show for a price of $2.4 million and will only be sold in the Middle East. The car stands out with its galvanized side windows and a polished aluminum line that starts at the front of the vehicle and travels to the back. The look creates a sharp contrast with the uniblack side and roof. The hood is covered in polished aluminum and it really shows how long this machine is. Other outlandish things include special polished rims, a dark magnesium dash, and a galvanized Platinum center console.

Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

Nothing says "I have money" like an expensive performance car covered in orange with a stupid name. Or does it? We can never tell nowadays. The Sang Noir is marketing at its finest. People who can afford such a machine all want to be different and outlandish, so why not create a Veyron with a black exterior and an orange interior and charge people outrageous amounts for it. There isn’t much you can do to make the car faster, so the Sang Noir gives the normal Veyron an evil look. The body is all black with a revised grille. Reportedly made in homage to the Bugatti Atlantique 57s, this new Sang Noir’s black scheme is satanic.

Bugatti Veyron Fbg Par Hermès

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

The name is hard to pronounce and it’s most defiantly not our favorite. It’s a normal Bugatti that was taken by this designer company and turned into a designer car. There is a Hermès monogram on the front grille, roadwheels with a single H in the center, and fuel filler door engraved with "Bugatti Veyron Fbg Par Hermès ". The interior is done in Hermès leather with internal door handles reminiscent of handles used on Hermès trunks - and a Hermès wallet and Hermès suitcase is included. It’s not our favorite and, at 1.55 million euros, this is one expensive handbag.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

Why can’t people just be happy with the fastest car in the world. The Bugatti Veyron was a magical piece of engineering, but they had add all this useless stuff to make it more expensive. The Grand Sport Sang Bleu had blue carbon fibre - not paint - with polished aluminium, rims inspired by the Grand Sport Roadster highlighted in a Midnight Blue and Diamond Cut two-tone finish. There are also fancy air scoops that are the same color as the car. It actually doesn’t look that bad, but we’ll stick with the normal one. This car should be quite rare and very expensive but honestly, how many of us have seen a Veyron on the road, so aren’t they all rare?

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Grey Carbon

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

There really isn’t a whole lot that makes the Grand Sport Grey Carbon special. There is no special luggage bag or anything like that, it’s just carbon fiber, which makes it rather ugly. It uses the same two-tone scheme as the Sang Bleu. The top part is carbon fiber, while the lower half is aluminum. The lower air intakes feature a high-shine polish. Inside, the seats are covered in gray leather with gray stitching. We are not going to pay that kind of money for a car with bare carbon fiber. The car’s owner paid $2.25 million for it.

Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

Pur Sang sounds more like a breed of cat rather than a car. Anyways, the Pur Sang is very rare; only five examples were produced and each had high-gloss aluminum roadwheels with a diamond-cut finish and a clear body finish revealing the Veyron’s aluminum-carbon fiber body. The Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron “Pur Sang” continues the legacy of the classic Bugatti sportscars: the “Atalante”, the Type 55, the Type 41 “Royale, as it has unique styling that helps it stand out.

Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

This version was created to celebrate Bugatti’s 100th birthday. Congratulations, here is another Veyron, but at a cost of $1.7 million. The entire body is painted in a combination of matte and gloss "Bugatti Blue", the mid-section between the two wings on the hood is expanded, and a chrome strip up the middle is also added. The interior is snow beige with quilting on the seats. There are new LED lights, Park Distance Control, and a rearview camera that will become part of the standard equipment for all Bugatti Veyrons from this year onwards.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

Nothing ruins a supercar like taking the top off of it. Except, of course, if the car maker is Bugatti. The Grand Sport isn’t a designer show off machine like the others are, as it’s simply a convertible Veyron. It won’t be as fast as the normal car, but it’s still pretty quick. The Grand Sport isn’t our favorite and we wouldn’t buy one, but it’s not bad.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

The original, the first, and probably the best. The Veyron was an orgy of mind bending numbers. An 8.0-liter W16 motor that put out 1,001 horsepower. The car would hit 60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 253 miles per hour. This car was just insane and it’s the one you want.

Bugatti Veyron Supersports

An In Depth Look At The Bugatti Veyron Variations

This is how you make a car like the Veyron better. You don’t add glitz and glamour, you add more power. The Supersports could hit a top speed of 267 miles per hour, making it the fastest car in the world. It was even the fastest car around the Top Gear test track. The first of five of an unannounced production run will debut in a matte black and orange color combination, all of which have been spoken for. Making the SuperSports is the way to make a car built for speed better.

Needless to say, if you have tons of money, Bugatti can make a car for you. We aren’t huge fans of all of these different models, but we don’t have that much money. Can you imagine Ferrari Ferrari taking the Enzo and turning it into a few special editions with new paint jobs and all sorts of designer stuff? No. The Veyron is one heck of a car and we are willing to let some of these slide because it’s just that good.

Nothing’s wrong with the multiple Veyron editions, but for us mere mortals, who cares? Yes, it’s an amazing car, but are you really that wowed by another paint scheme?

I would like to drive the Sang Noir onetime. Only rich people get to have these mad machines.
