Aston Martin may be priming themselves to design and build a new Maybach ultra luxury sedan, according to European press. That is, if talks between them and Daimler are successful. This potential partnership is already in the works and a mockup of a new Maybach limousine has already been set in motion to make its world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. This new model will use technologies and parts from Aston Martin and will help Maybach create much cheaper models. Aston Martin will benefit by gaining access to Daimler’s four-wheel-drive technology for an off-road vehicle that will be based on the Mercedes GL-Class. The British company will also get Daimler’s fuel-efficient diesel and gasoline engines. It’s the classic "You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours" scenario. A Daimler insider told Reuters: "There is no cooperation deal with Aston Martin. We are often in talks about various topics, such as the donating technology for the Lagonda show car." Aston Martin was not available for comment. .

Well, Maybach need to separate from Mercedes to grow and succeeded. I don’t have any against to Maybach but I think its design came from the last generation car!
Yeah I believe the concept Maybach is from 1997... The Audi-infused Bentley are my favorite in this category.
A Continental and a Mulsanne/Arnage level competitor. 2 Door and 4 Door. Meaning Mercedes needs to stop playing in the SLS/SLR range and reserve that for its Maybach line.

Aston Martin and Daimler had worked together in the past for the Lagonda Concept, so there’s really a chance that they may be teaming up again for the new Maybach ultra luxury sedan. Though Daimler answered they haven’t had a partnership deal with Aston Martin, they should be talking about it soon. Maybach is a very interesting and exclusive car platform, thus we can expect good results if the two companies had agreed together.
This looks too properly primed and polished to perfection. Looks elegant and yet also perfect for long road travel.
great, for sure they’ll present another great and luxury car. lets just hope that it’s not a gas guzzling one. we all know that a luxury sedan’s engine has a lot of horses..
