Aston Martin is undoubtedly one of the most iconic sports car manufacturers in the world, and with the British marque set to celebrate its 100th birthday next year, Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez recently confirmed that the brand will debut a brand new model next year to celebrate.

In an exclusive interview with AutoExpress, Bez stated "This will be an entirely new model. We have to do something remarkable to mark our centenary. It won’t be a DB9 with a Centenary Edition badge and it won’t be a limited edition like the One-77 supercar. This will be a mainstream Aston."

It’s currently unclear which model Aston Martin plans to bring into the market, but expect something out-of-this-world and vastly different from the DBS and One-77 which currently top the Aston Martin lineup. It’s vital to point out that whatever the new car is, it won’t be a limited edition so just as Bez stated, so don’t expect a direct competitor to the One-77.

This leaves us with a few options. It could be a brand new Aston Martin SUV which revives the historic Lagonda nameplate , or more likely will be a derivative of the V12 powered DBS which has been spotted testing in recent weeks. If Aston Martin does in fact base this new model upon the DBS, then expect marginally different styling as Bez also confirmed that “You need evolution in design, not constant change”

If that statement rings true in the upcoming model, then redesigned bumpers, skirts, headlights and taillights could be the go, and for all we know, Aston Martin have something very special planned in the performance department to increase horsepower over the DBS.

We’ll just have to wait and see!

At least, a teaser should be released by now.

What could it be that Aston Martin developing?

Aston Martin leaves our imagination to wonder how it will be.

Well, it’s a century since Aston Martin entered the business, and it means they are a great company to survive a hundred years in the automotive world.

Is there no any detail about it by now?

The grille makes it madder-looking piece.

I wish this would not be outrageous like a mad car.

Inherently, the rarity of its appearance must come with the uniqueness of its performance.

I’m curious as to what category this centennial car will fall under. It’s going to be really special, so it must be exquisitely done.

Why did they choose it to be a sports car? Now it must live to the expectation of people for it to be highest among its innovations.

Should it be in theme for their 100th anniversary, I hope it doesn’t look ridiculous so it can be sold in the market too.

I’m excited for this new sports car. When Aston Martin announces something, I expect to happen actually.

Aston Martin should release teasers, so we can judge if their styling has really improved or not.

That’s what I like most about Aston Martin. Their pursuance on something new is their legacy. I really can’t wait for this sports car.

This should be extravagant in features and outrageous in design! I’ll simply won’t accept it if Aston Martin releases a plain-looking car for their first annual celebration.

They’ve always been one of the leading companies with stylish designs! It’s not a surprise that they’re planning something fresh.

Aston Martin certainly knows what’s going on around; a simple enhancement won’t do. I hope that they’d actually change into something more stylish than they already are.

It’s pleasant to hear that they’ve actually realized that too. So yeah, I really anticipate the evolution of their design.
