Audi A5 Sportback to debut in 2009

The A5 Sportback will be based on the A4/A5 platform and will be a mix of the two: front of the A5 and middle of the A4, the wheelbase will be the same as for the A4, the width as the A5; length will be between coupe and sedan.

There will also be a S5 Sportback and later on a RS5.

Under the hood the A5 Sportback there will be:

• 1.8 TFSI, 160 hp / 250 Nm
• 2.0 TFSI, 180 hp / 320 Nm
• 2.0 TFSI, 211 hp/ 350 Nm
• 3.2 V6 FSI, 265 hp /330 Nm
• 2.0 TDI, 143 hp /320 Nm
• 2.0 TDI, 170 hp/350 Nm
• 2.7 V6 TDI, 190 hp/380 Nm
• 3.0 V6 TDI, 240 hp/500 Nm

Quattro will be standard option for the big diesel engine and an option for the 170-hp TDI and for the two biggest gas engines.
