Audi Q7 Hybrid coming in 2008

Audi has announced that they intend to launch the Q7 Hybrid by the end of 2008. The Q7 hybrid was developed in a partnership with Porsche. A hybrid Q7 was launched at Frankfurt Motor Show and the production version will probably follow the same structure: a 4.2-litre FSI V8 drive unit developing 350 bhp and 324 lbs-ft of torque.

USA is the country with the biggest sale at hybrid cars. Almost 70%, meaning 283000 vehicles are sold in here, but comparing to the country’s annual sales of between 16 and 17 million the hybrid sales are almost nothing. If this rate doesn’t change, “it could become increasingly difficult to manufacture and sell hybrids in commercially sensible volumes,” commented Lehna. Anyway, instead of all this number Audi is preparing to launch its new model by the end of 2008.
