Heading into the LA Auto Show, BMW’s Vision EfficientDynamics->ke3491 was being touted as the can’t-miss concept car. Now it looks like it may have found a worthy contender in the form of the Audi E-Tron Concept.

Both cars made their debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show but while the same BMW->ke178 concept showed up at the LA Auto Show, the e-tron Concept has arrived sporting a totally different – and eye-popping – color: orange.

We already know what the E-Tron Concept is capable of, but it’s still worth a refresher course. The car is powered by a purely electric drive system made up of four motors – two at the front and two more at the rear axle – generating a total output of 313 HP and 3,319.03 lb-ft of torque. With that much power under its hood, the car is capable of clocking in a 0 to 60 MPH time of just 4.8 seconds.

The orange color may be an acquired taste for some, but for us, it’s blindingly beautiful. It makes us wonder now if the E-Tron Concept may have stolen some of the Vision EfficientDynamics’ thunder.
