Audi’s future revealed

Audi is preparing a new batle in order to become the leader of the luxury pack by 2020. The first model to be launched is the A1, a baby model that will compete directly to the Mini. Expect the car around 2009-2010.

2007 it is announced a busy year, with the launch of the R8 supercar and V12 diesel Q7. Also coming is the A5 coupe, which uses the new MLB platform which will underpin all Audi’s forthcoming big cars.

The A5 will be built at the Ingolstadt factory together with the new the Q5 that will debut in 2008 and will compete with BMW X3 and Mercedes’ forthcoming baby ML. The car will be offered in both engine versions: petrol and diesel. A Q3 and Q1 are also expected.

Audi is also planning a mid-engined R4 sports car that will debut in 2010. The base model will have an maximum output of 200 hp, and later it is expected a high performance model with an output between 280 and 350 hp.
