Audi will unveil the S5 next year to keep in line with the changes made to the A4. Because this is a German performance sedan, it is being put through the paces at the Nurburgring before public consumption. The 2010 S5 will receive subtle revisions over the current car. The biggest change is under the hood: the new S5 gets Audi’s new supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine in place of the current model’s 4.2-liter V8. The RS5 coming in 2010 will also get a V8 engine.

The new S5 will also feature the option of a seven-speed twin-clutch DSG transmission and the latest iteration of Audi’s Quattro four-wheel drive system. The 0 to 60 mph sprint will be made under 5 seconds, while top speed will be limited to 155 mph.
