Is true the Geneva Motor Show is one of the most important shows of the year, and is also true it is just a few weeks ago. But rumors say that BMW has decided to wait until April with the revealing of the new BMW M5, concept version. More precisely for the Shanghai Auto Show, the same place where BMW will also bring the 6-Series Coupe. A production version will be revealed in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
While there is no point talking about the exterior design language, as everyone imagine how the car will look like (and this rendering in Frozen Gray makes it looking better than ever), we will focus on some interesting news: the F10 M5 will be offered with ceramic brakes, a first time for a production model BMW. Ceramic brakes provide great braking power, well wear over time, produce less brake dust, and are very lightweight. This kind of brakes are also used for models like Porsche GT2 or Nissan GT-R.
UPDATE 04/03/11: A press event hosted by BMW in Munich, Germany drew more than just the usual snapshots and press releases, but apparently, the German automaker also went ahead and revealed a number of its new vehicles, including the BMW M5 Concept. Unfortunately for BMW, some photos of the M5 Concept were unceremoniously leaked over the Internet. And as you know about today’s technology, whatever is shown over the Web will be instantly gobbled up by just about everyone, including us. So here it is, folks. Leaked photos of the BMW M5 Concept for your enjoyment!
