At the end of 2009, Parmigiani unveiled the Bugatti Tourbillon Watch inspired by the 16 C Galibier concept. This particular watch could be used as a wristwatch, a pocket watch, or could even be mounted on the dash of the owner’s Bugatti. Pretty classy, huh? Well, it seems that Parmigiani are at it again ,and this time they have unveiled a new watch inspired by the latest Veyron Super Sport. This doesn’t necessarily surprise us considering the Bugatti is a record-breaking machine that deserves a timepiece modeled after it, but they better get it produced soon as the sizzle might fizzle once the Koenigsegg Agera completes its task of breaking the Bugatti’s record. But back to the timepiece. Parmigiani has played with the shape of this watch to make it as exclusive and daring as the Veyron SuperSport itself. The watch has a partially carbon fiber dial that has been placed perpendicular to the display axis with the use of a double pinion with bevel gearing system. This sytem setup allows for a 90 degree angle transfer of energy. This world premier technology allows the time to be displayed on the side of the timepiece. In terms of aesthetic design, the train wheels are cut in the shape of car wheels and the plate and 10 bridges are designed and decorated in line with Parmigiani’s exclusive criteria as seen on the Calibre 370. The movement of the watch is displayed through six sapphire crystals. As for the hands, applique indexes, and counter; these components are displayed in the exact shade of orange picked out for the record-breaking SuperSport. Press release after the jump. Press release Parmigiani Fleurier launched the car inspired Bugatti Super Sport timepiece. A super watch made in conjunction with the world’s fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. The car is an amazing feat in engineering as is this new Bugatti timepiece from Parmigiani. I really liked the original watch Parmigiani created for Bugatti, however, this version has been fully redesigned. The new watch is arguably better looking, and maintains an unmistakable look, much like a Bugatti super car. The design is more restrained, the case is sleeker and it is much more wearable. The excellent design perfectly blends subtle Bugatti Veyron elements, without being quite as loud as the previous model, and that is definitely a good thing. 13 comments: Bugatti Super Sport Watch by Parmigiani BadStroller (256) Posted on 08.17.2011 Agreed. This would be an impressive car inspired watch! I wonder on what can Tag Heur have to say on this chronograph?
Andress (1243) Posted on 06.8.2011 Yeah, and I don’t think that Bugatti would choose a cheap watch-maker of to create them one. For this luxury car, iconic watch builder would be a perfect match.
Allen_Bryson (330) Posted on 06.8.2011 @Omarion_Steve, How can you be sure? Parmigiani has been in the industry for quite a long time now. They have founded their line sometime during the 70’s. Well, for almost a decade in the industry I bet they have proved already their credibility as a watch maker.
adam_valentine (725) Posted on 11.5.2010 Front is gorgeous but not digging the back still. And not too impressed with dashboard, looks plain and boring.
Pepe_Smith (520) Posted on 11.4.2010 is this a watch..honestly i don’ like the design of it..look so over design..
Reggiejonson (329) Posted on 10.3.2010 Looks quite beautiful as a pocket watch cradled in the dash but then takes a dive downmarket when slotted into that ugly brown band and the ladies version is just plain ridiculous
Andress (1243) Posted on 09.30.2010 I could see myself having something like this done with a boxer block, just because it’s an interesting intersection between two high-precision mechanical engineering products.
benjie_klien (179) Posted on 09.30.2010 Wow, expensive, exclusive and downright ugly. Looks more like someone who drives a bling-out Escalade would wear.
Omarion_Steve (767) Posted on 08.18.2010 For those not familiar with Parmigiani, they are a low-volume top-tier watch manufacture that produces a full range of watches from simple time-only pieces all the way up to some of the most outstanding technical marvels in the watch industry. Unfortunately, their prices are commensurate with their quality, design, and craftsmanship which makes them virtually unattainable for the average consumer (kind of like Koenigsegg or, I don’t know, Bugatti?).
