If Ferraris can do it, then, well, so can Porsches.

Celebrating the 100th birthday of one of its heirs, the Porsche Club of America’s Long Beach Region (PCA-GPX) converged at the Pacific Porsche dealership in Torrance, California for a little joyride along the California highways. Before embarking on their trip, the attendees were given a nice wake ‘er upper courtesy of a shiny and glittering 2010 Porsche 911 GT3.

Over 30 Porsches – most of which were the legendary 356 – drove from Torrance all the way to the San Vicente Lighthouse in Palos Verdes, all in the name of birthday no. 100 for the late Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche. In addition to the overwhelming number of 356s in attendance, there were also appearances by a couple Boxsters, 911s, 924s, and 928s.

Of course, we doubt that any of these guys actually met Ferry Porsche but nevertheless, the tribute to one of the most iconic figures in company history was a pretty cool thing to see.
