Chevrolet Chevelle revival may show up as a concept in Detroit

The Chevelle was one of the most impressive models offered by Chevrolet in the 1964 through 1977 model years, and although there have been rumors circulating about a possible revival, nothing ever really happened to encourage that rumor to be more. That is, until now. According to Jalopnik, Chevrolet will be offering a "surprise concept" next week at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show that will preview the return of the historic Chevelle.

According to their source, Jalopnik says that this concept will be a "retro-styled compact-ish car" translated into a concept that is "smaller than a mid-size sedan but bigger than a toaster." Great, we’re glad they cleared that up. It also seems as though Chevrolet has trademarked the "Chicane" name so it is very possible that the concept will come bearing that name when it lands in the Motor City.

Let’s just hope this rumor does hold water because after two years of Chevelle revival nonsense, we’re about due for some concrete information, and maybe we’ll get just that next week in Detroit. Stay tuned!

Woo! This is some kind of a weird. The model version of this is like 90’s concept. I don’t find any new features with these cars. As a whole, I don’t find it any aggressive.

I don’t like the concept of these car. It’s not impressive at all. I’m expecting a lot changes with these model.

Many agree with the design but I beg to disagree because I feel that the concept of this car is so modern or should I say, the design is not too impressive. Anyone tries to agree that this car was preferably used in movies.

When is the exact date for the Detroit show? I am now eager to know if this will really be there. I hope Jalopnik is a positive source and what he had said is reliable, for I don’t want to get a wrong information.

Me too! Can’t wait for another edition of its story. I can’t also wait for the production and looks of this Chevelle. This is one of the best vintage cars I have seen.

I will surely stay tuned on this article. I love the design and how Chevelle looks like, remaking this car will be a good idea. Knowing that vintage cars are always on top of many car lover’s choice.
