SRT engineers are secretly developing the next SRT choice of powerplant - the 6.4 liter Hemi V8. The same engine that was shown to us SEMA fans late last year. Noting SEMA showing of the engine’s output at 510 Horsepower and 510-lbs of Torque, this beast maybe the top of its field when produce. Not to forget about two more Hemis (inlcuding a SuperHemi) will be joining the lineup but one may replace the current 6.1ltr in the foreseeble future. Retro engines are making a comeback.
The 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will reside on the next generation ‘LY’ platform [codenamed LCX23] that will be shared by the 2009 Chrysler 300 ’D’, 2010 Dodge Charger, and hopefully the 2009 Dodge Magnum wagon. Yet, let me also reveal the mysterious fastback coupe that will share the same Challenger components that maybe dubbed the Cordoba. Planned production date begins in April 0f 2008 at the Brampton Plant.
