Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR sets production car lap record at Miller Motorsports Park

This may be the last year for the fourth generation Dodge Viper , but it will surely be remembered for quite some time after the productive day it had at the track. A 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (American Club Racer) has made history once again by completing a record lap of 1:59.995 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, on Monday, April 11, 2011.

Kuno Wittmer was behind the wheel of the street legal 2010 Dodge Viper ACR as it broke the 2-minute mark for the first time in a production car on the 3.048-mile Outer Course configuration. The previous record was held by a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with a time of 2:03.86.

"It’s amazing to come to this world-class track and shatter the production car lap record by almost 4 seconds," said Bryan Viger, Head of Dodge Motorsports. "We brought our street-legal Viper ACR to see what Kuno could do behind the wheel, and on his second lap he’d already gone faster than the single lap record."

Well, comparing that record to the lap time in Nurburgring, I think this one has no match at all. I wan to see this car race against a powerful car.

Viper is one of the great production of the Dodge. I was thinking on why this car manufacturer doesn’t choose to make a record on Nurburgring track?

Well, we would probably not have to wait for a more powerful. The guys back at Dodge have already announced that they are now working on the next edition.

Yeah, I also remember that one. The Viper was able to win over the other car by a small margin. Just goes to show that this car is really fast.

Based from what i remember I think 2008 Viper has win over a super car( but I cant remember the name). Anyway, I’m quite impress with the performance of the Viper. I never imagine that it could have an amazing record compare to the Zr1.

Well, there’s a current generation produced by the Dodge. I have a positive feeling for this production. However, I want to congratulate the Viper for making such awesome lap time record.

I am not really all that surprised that the Viper was able to pull off that record. After all, the car is already well known to be all that fast.

Well, this one is certainly going to be a great send off for fourth gen Viper. It makes me more eager to see what the next gen Viper would be able to do.
