The unfortunate and untimely death of Paul Walker put the future of the Fast & Furious franchise in tenuous position, a position that it was only able to move on from just recently. One of the biggest challenges Fast 7 experienced in the wake of Walker’s death was how it would be able to finish a movie when he still had some action scenes to shoot? It took months of discussions, but ultimately, the people behind the Fast franchise came to a decision to use not one of Walker’s brothers, but two of them.
In an announcement it made on its Facebook page, Fast 7 producers have made it known that both Cody and Caleb Walker, are set to be included in the movie to finish Paul’s action scenes. Rumors of a Walker brother stepping in to film Paul’s final scenes have been going swirling since late last year , shortly after his shocking death. At that time, it was Cody that was being talked about as being Paul’s replacement, but now it’s been announced that Cody and Caleb are going to be in the movie.
As far as what producers have in store for Walker’s character, Brian O’Connor, it appears that the character won’t be killed off as previously thought of. Instead, it would be "retired" in the seventh movie.
The death of Paul Walker still leaves a bad taste in our mouth, but knowing that both his brothers will be involved in the movie franchise that defined his career is as good a sign as any to pay respects to the fallen actor.

A Note to the Fans of FAST & FURIOUS
The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. It certainly defines how we feel about our fans.
Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.
We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too. Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for FAST & FURIOUS 7, and it’s among the strongest work of his career.
We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.
We are just under a year away from the release of FAST & FURIOUS 7, and this film is the most important we’ve ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O’Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role.
We wanted to take a moment to speak to our fans directly and thank you for the love and support you always show us as we resume our work.
