It's been a while since Ferrari->ke252 applied the "Scuderia" badge to any of its models. Actually, it's been 6 years since that happened with the F430 Scuderia.

But expectations are already heating up that a Scuderia-badged 458 Italia is coming to the Frankfurt Motor Show. And if the F430 Scuderia is any indication, the 458 Scuderia could also be treated to a significant loss in weight.

That much was hinted to AutoExpress, saying that the Italian automaker could go a similar "weight-savings" route with the 458 Scuderia just like when it shaved close to 100 pounds off of the F430 Scuderia.

The buzz and the hype surrounding the 458 Scuderia is very real, folks. And with the Frankfurt Motor Show drawing closer and closer, we're all going to have the answers to all these rumors. Stay tuned for more.

Ferrari 458 Scuderia

It goes without saying that there's a lot of buzz and excitement surrounding the 458 Scuderia and it's not just about it being a lighter and trimmer take on the standard 458.

While we expect the car to retain the same features of the 458 - give or take a few aesthetic and aerodynamic adjustments. But what we're getting all geeked up for are the past reports that have hinted at a 600-horsepower output for the 458 Scuderia, significantly more than the 562-horsepower output that the 458 Italia has under its hood.

Should that be the case, then expect this Scuderia-badged 458 to be about as hot a Ferrari as any the automaker has produced in recent memory.
