AutoExpress caught testing the Barchetta version of the Ferrari 599. According to the British Magazine AutoExpress, the production version’s top could be a folding metal item, just like the California.
The 599 Barchetta will be powered by the same engine as the 599 GTB version: a 6.0-liter V12 engine delivering 620bhp. Top speed will likely drop from the current 205 mph due to the folding top’s added weight. The official unveiling is expected to be made in March 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show, with production to start in the summer.
