More and more details of the Ferrari->ke252 California successor are coming out and slowly but surely, the puzzle coming from Maranello is becoming more and more complete.
The latest bit of information is pretty big and it comes by way of Autocar. According to the popular UK magazine, the next-generation Calfornia will carry a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that will carry an output of 552 horsepower. The turbocharged powertrain will likewise provide Ferrari's entry-level model with a throatier soundtrack, at least compared to the naturally-aspirated V-8 that the current California has under its hood.
Equally important news is the styling of the next-gen California, which, as its been reported, will draw inspiration from the F12berlinetta->ke4223, particularly the front end. It'll definitely be interesting how Ferrari designers can infuse the spirit of the F12berlinetta into the design without compromising the California's distinctive style.
There are definitely still more questions than answers at this point. But if it's true that the next-gen California will have that much power under its hood, then it should bode well for those who have been waiting for the model to arrive.

The Ferrari California made its debut in 2008 and is the company’s resident 2+2 hardtop convertible.
It is a front engine, rear wheel drive grand touring sports car and was the first vehicle in four decades that did not carry an alphanumeric appendage.
Now on its last legs, the 2014 Ferrari California is set to be succeeded by a new model in the coming years, possibly one that could end up carrying a turbocharged engine. But that’s a discussion for another time.
The latest California is powered by a 4.3 liter, V-8 engine that delivers an output of 483 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque, good enough to hit 0-60 mph in 3.85 seconds and a top speed of 195 mph.
