Introduced for the 2015 model year, the California T created quite a stir among Ferrari->ke252 enthusiasts, who saw the turbocharged convertible->ke144 as a sign that Maranello->ke252 had already begun to move away from naturally aspirated V-8 engines. But despite upsetting a few fans, the California T soon regained its popularity due to its increased output and reduced fuel consumption. Since then, Ferrari had already launched the 488 GTB, a turbocharged successor to the 458 Italia and the second member of the brand's new family of sports cars->ke506 employing forced induction.

The main reason I'm talking about the California T more than a year after its official debut is because the car's online configurator just became a lot more fun. Ferrari has added an array of new colors and options to this online app, making the drop-top as customizable as any other model in the lineup.

If you're looking to either book a California T or just have some fun and check out what's new in the online configurator, this is the best time to give it a go. Exterior Colors

As with most Ferraris, the California T doesn't disappoint when it comes to exterior colors. Whether you'd like yours in red, yellow, blue or gray, Ferrari offers nearly 30 choices. If you're the classy type who thinks Ferraris should only be offered in the brand's heritage colors, you'll be happy to know there are plenty of such options to choose from. The classic palette includes Giallo Modena, Rosso Corsa, Grigio Ingrid, Nero Pastello, and Blu Tour de France.

Those of you who are looking for something a bit more exotic can have the convertible finished in hues such as Rosso Fiorano, Avorio, Verde British, Blu Abu Dhabi or Blu Mirabeau. Naturally, Ferrari also offers a wide array of gray colors, ranging from the silvery Argento Nurburgring to the very dark Nero Daytona.

Colors aside, Ferrari offers other customization options for the exterior. The standard black grille can be either enhanced with chrome edges or upgraded to a full chrome piece. Like most models, the California T can be equipped with "Scuderia Ferrari" shields on the front fenders.

Wheels

For wheels, there are five options to the standard five-spoke rims. Two are of the same design, but painted mate-gray and chrome, while the other three are silver, chrome, and dark-gray versions of Ferrari's twin-five-spoke design. Each model can be fitted with a carbon-fiber hubcap. Brake calipers can be had in no fewer than nine colors, including Rosso Scuderia, Giallo Modena, Gold, and Blu.

Interior

The interior of the California T can be customized in many ways, with thousands of available combinations. The upholstery can be ordered in one of 15 colors, including various shades of blue, brown, red, and cream. Pick the dual-color option and you end up with a two-tone interior of your choice, while another option will let you combine leather with Alcantara. Stitching options, including both regular and a thicker thread, consist of the same colors as the upholstery, plus various hues of light-gray, yellow, gold or green. Even the carpets are colored in crazy hues such as Castoro (gold) or Bordeaux.

The four seating options are pretty much similar, with only the seat backs being different. As usual, there are Daytona-style, Diamond pattern, and Backbone-style options to the standard seat. However, these can be customized in various ways, with many colors available for the piping and the Alcantara inserts. Also, there are 15 colors for the horse embroidered into the headrest and nine colors for the safety belts. The same goes for the door panels, available in both leather and Alcantara.

Although the dashboard can be customized separately, buyers can match both the upper and lower parts of it to the upholstery on the seats and door panels. Color options are pretty much the same here, complemented by the optional carbon-fiber inserts. More carbon fiber can be added to the steering wheel, which can be also be finished in more than 10 colors to match the rest of the interior. The tachometer, on the other hand, can only be black, red, yellow or white.

Other options include a CD reader, fire extinguisher, Navtrak anti-theft system, a heat insulating windscreen, and parking cameras.
