Ferrari already unveiled the Vettura Laboratorio HY-KERS, so a decision to bring an engine smaller than their usual V8 should come as no surprise. In an interview with AutoCar, Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo said: "An engine smaller than a V8? Why not?" However, despite all the new emission regulations, he continued: "Our cars are there to enjoy and we have to maintain this."

He also said that a hybrid system would be a challenge for the company and they are not sure if it will be built in the future: "Our goal is that it will be ready in four years' time, but we’re not 100 per cent sure about the cost or economy because there are four years to go and we’ll see lots of improvement in that time."

For Ferrari->ke252 the V8 engines are more than enough. With the help of turbocharging, technology, innovation, and electronics the company will achieve impressive consumption and emissions.

Short history: Dino was Ferrari's first V6 powered model. It was a 2.0 liter all-aluminum engine delivering a total of 160 hp @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 138 lbs-ft at 6500 rpm. The 206 had a top speed of 146 mph.
